The K2 Sky Pilot Snowboard 2027
Built With Sage Kotsenburg With The Intent of Exploring New Terrain.
Sage Kotsenburg linked up with our product design and engineering team and wanted to work a new snowboard that was designed to ride pillowy, forested, technical terrain. The concept was to be able to pivot and release the tail freely to allow the rider to ride the natural contours of the terrain in front of them. The crew got to the drawing board, pumped out proto #1, and we were off to the races on what became to be the Sky Pilot. Through iterations of shapes, trying different fiberglass lay ups, and playing jazz with carbon additives, we found the sweet spot and began to hone in on the best tool to do the job.

Developed alongside Utah local legend Sage Kotsenburg, the Sky Pilot is the ultimate weapon for hunting pillows, slashing tight trees, and navigating technical backcountry lines. The Milo crew loves the loose, surfy freedom this board offers. By pairing a 3mm 3D Base Contour spoon shape with a custom Carbon Y Beam layout, K2 managed to build a deck that lets you kick turn and pivot the tail instantly in deep snow, while maintaining absolute rock solid stability and driving power through the front contact points. Thanks to Volume Shift, you downsize this 3 to 5cm from your normal deck length to get an incredibly nimble, quick turning feel without sacrificing an ounce of big mountain float.

Milo Staff Setup Recommendation
To match the nimble, quick pivoting backcountry freestyle nature of Sage signature deck, you need a high performance binding that offers quick response with plenty of ankle mobility. We highly recommend pairing this snowboard with a set of Union Falcor or Union Strata bindings. The Falcor carbon build delivers the immediate edge pressure needed to drive the camber midbody, while the Strata provides the plush underfoot dampening needed to cushion heavy backcountry pillow drops.
